Hey y’all! It’s Monique here! I launched Divas Can Cook in 2009 after realizing there was a real shortage in these internet streets for from-scratch Southern recipes like the ones I grew up eating in my Grandma Barb’s kitchen!

I’m refering to that deep-south Elberton, Georgia cooking infused with the farm-to-table mountain vibes of Asheville, North Carolina: homegrown fried green tomatoes, golden buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy and rustic cobblers made from local peaches and berries.

It’s these recipes that resonate the warmth of home to me. Dive deeper into the world of Southern hospitality and explore over 800 authentic recipes at https://divascancook.com.

This channel is dedicated to tried and true Southern family recipes, culinary creations I’ve perfected over time, and a sprinkle of nontraditional dishes for good luck.

My goal? To boost your confidence in the kitchen and become your trusted go-to resource for all things Southern cooking!

there is just something about homemade strawberry jam that just gives me all the feels of my childhood and it takes me right back to Grand my Barb’s kitchen and this recipe y’all this Jam is the bomb and it is so easy to make let’s go okay so I have washed my strawberries so I’m going to go ahead and just remove the tops I’m going to dice these up into little small pieces if you want a really smooth finished Jam then you can place this in a blender but I like mine to be like on the chunky side you know a little bit chunky next go ahead and toss those stries into a large Skillet and this is just three ingredients guys I love a good three ingredient recipe just good oldfashioned recipes you know I’m going to add in some granulated sugar and then I’m going to add in a little bit of lemon juice now don’t skip that lemon juice because it’s going to balance out the sweetness and help our Jam to kind of firm up really well okay toss those strawberries and sugar let them sit for about 15 minutes it’s going to get all nice and syrupy now you want to crank up the heat and we’re going to warm up everything so that all the sugar melts and everything gets perfectly serpy and beautiful and shiny like this right here and when it comes to these homemade jams you really can use just about any fruit to make this really simple easy Jam you can use peaches um raspberry so easy okay so I’m going to bring it to the simmer I’m going to let it simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes get your potato mashing and kind of mashed up if you want to I don’t like mine to be like you know too chunky so I mash it up a little bit okay so once it has start to thicken up I’m going to bring it to a rolling boil and you want to let it cook while stirring it constantly until it reaches about 220 degrees Fahrenheit your candy thermometer then you want to go ahead and remove it from the heat I like to skim off any of the foam on top you know I’m going to pour this into my sterilized jar here while it’s nice and hot okay you want to put that lid on while it’s nice and hot as well but that’s pretty much it let it sit until it is room temperature and then pop it into the fridge and let it firm up completely and you got some homemade jam y’all that will put that grocery store stuff to shame y’all like for real you’ll see when you make it and if you do let me know how you like it all right later
