There are some benefits to gardening in a colder climate. Garlic maturing later and a cool basement equals still eating last year’s garlic almost until the fresh crop is ready. Admittedly, they are not as crisp as they were a month ago but still better than what you get in the grocery stores.

Congrats! Garlic is a favorite of mine. Low maintenance all around.
Do you plant some of the harvested ones for next year? Or do you buy new bulbs yearly?
I was debating freezing some this harvest to cover that gap.
