One of my steaks is discolored. I know food coloring is added to steaks at supermarkets and I’m assuming that’s all it is – thoughts?

Technical explanation: muscles contain myoglobin, which binds, stores and transports oxygen to the muscles. When it oxididizes, it turns brown, but is harmless. As long as it doesn’t smell bad, it is usually still safe to eat.
