So I went overboard for my husband's birthday cake. He said he didn't want me to fuss but I FUSSED.
It's a homemade confetti cake, with vanilla cake batter flavored buttercream. I topped it with Lindt Birthday Cake flavored truffles, and melted down some of them to make the drip; it's also my first attempt at a drip, so be gentle lol
I didn't have a cake stand, board, or any tools but an offset spatula and a piping bag, so the sides aren't as clean as I would have liked. He loved it though! My only wish is that I hadn't put as much frosting in the middle!

Honestly, its not perfectly smooth sides suit this cake. If you hadn’t said it wasn’t on purpose, I would’ve assumed it was a design choice.

They added a lovely detail to the cake and made for a perfect drip. You really did a sensational job and set the bar very, very high.
