People bbq on balconies all the time, you’re fine.

It should be fine since there’s nothing flammable and you can easily get to the tank.

Many fire codes prohibit cooking within 10 feet of any structure, and also under an overhang. There are over 10,000 structural grill fires a year. 2,500 of those are on a balcony or open porch.

I would be concerned of the build-up over time of grease on the walls and ceiling, those rough surfaces don’t look easy to clean. Even though it would be difficult for a grill to ignite a wall under normal circumstances, igniting built-up grease is far more likely.

I grew up in a family that loved to grill year round, even in the harshest Wisconsin winter weather. I’ve carried on that tradition. When I’m going to grill, I don’t do it in my backyard or on my deck because it would be impossible to be 10 feet away from my house, the deck, my garage, my fence… So I’m in the middle of my driveway with the grill. It’s a pain because I have to move three cars to do it, but I’d rather be safe than sorry.

lol this is the most painfully AZ picture ever. You should be fine but trying to grill in the summer is death out here.

Hit up my guy Caleb from phxoutdoorliving.com for a bitchin misting system for that patio. It’s the only way I can grill in the summer anymore.

Just put a fan in the gap so you don’t get soot on the ceiling.

Ehhhhhh the overhang is concerning. If you can move the grill to an uncovered space while cooking that would be safer

Anything above or behind your grill will turn black so you may want to move it out a few feet

Living in Arizona or wherever you are seems like a far bigger hazard than grilling in that space.

Yes, but the roof is going to be black very soon.

I’m from the Midwest, and this scenery looks like the set of a Star Wars movie.

Think about how this compares to a gas range inside in the kitchen.

Just wheel it out onto those brick pavers, perfect spot. Safer and will look better

Too close to the house. Insurance would refuse your claim.

Can you? Yes. Would I? Noooo. Get that away from the house. Stable ground and “covid safe distance” away from everything 😂 what was that… 6 feet?

I wouldn’t today, but younger me would have for sure. I’d store it where you have it and roll it into the yard for use. That’s basically what I do at my place.
