The langoustine was delicious, everything paired perfectly. Real standout.

The sauce with the turnip was brilliant, the turnip however, bland, I feel like the sauce could have been paired with anything, any other veg or meat and it would’ve been ‘the same’

The classics menu fish was better than this(I’m not a fish lover).

The cheese and onion is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had and I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting much! Might have to start cooking onions with cheese, for breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Lamb was great, sauce was great.

The other carrot. I’ve never been a fan of carrot cake, I wasn’t too keen, wife enjoyed it.

Coreteser, wow. Can I have another?

I really like carrot cake, so I enjoyed that dish.

Agreed on the turnip, I thought it was merely good rather than anything special (it was definitely eclipsed by the potato dish). For me the weakest dish was the scallop tartare, no idea why that has remained on their menu for so long…give me a sauteed scallop any day. It was fine, with very clean flavours but too delicate for my liking.

Aside from that, I loved every dish there…that lamb is fantastic, the best lamb dish I’ve ever had. The protein itself and the sauce are excellent and the puree is masterful. I had lamb at Heston’s Dinner as a main about a month later and, although that was very good, it did not compare well to the one at Core.
