My neighbor has a very fruitful cherry tree!!! Shes been over there picking for days. There was a knock on my door last night and she was there with a giant pail!!! I weighed the cherries after I washed and pitted them and it was over 11 pounds!!! It took several hours & my hands are stained red brown now π€£
Decided to make a cherry pie and some tarts for the neighborhood! Also froze a ton of cherries to make bourbon cherries at Christmas for gifts. Yum!! Will definitely enjoy the 'fruits' of my labors π€

How wonderful your neighbor shared the bounty of their cherry tree. And for you to turn around and bake for the neighbors is such a thoughtful gesture!
Last summer I drove a neighbor to the dealership to get his car. On the way there he asked if I enjoyed spicy food. I said yes. He said he would drop off some hot peppers he grew. I recognized the jalapeΓ±os but not the other type of pepper. It turns out they were Trinidad scorpion peppers. Had I tried cooking with them I likely would have created tear gas. I appreciated the gesture, but cherries would have been a safer gift. πππ.
I ended up giving the scorpion peppers to friends in New Jersey that make their own hot sauce. Outdoors.
That’s pretty nice. How do you get your top crust to look like that?
