1 cup brown or green lentils, preferably the brown, but both work
¾ cup coarse bulgur
1/3 cup canola oil
1 small onion, finely chopped, to cook together with the lentils and bulgur
3 large red onions, julienne, to caramelize
A dash of cumin powder, optional
3 cups water
1 teaspoon salt or to taste

hello lovelies hadya from had Lees Cuisine here let’s make together an aromatic lentil and bulgar Pila garnished with caramelized onions and the garnisher is far more than just decorating a plate but will add an incredible depth of flavor to our mjara it’s a Frugal meal that’s healthy nutritious and super decent and now let’s get started now let’s cut the onions finally chop one onion using a serated knife we will be cooking it with the lentils and bulot pilaf and slice the rest of the onions to Julian and here we’ll be caramelizing them to dress up our mu heat the oil in a large Skillet you can use a combination of sunflower oil and olive oil add the onions and stir all the time until the onions start to wilt keep cooking and scraping over medium heat now it’s important to use red onions they are the secret behind the Christmas of uh the caramelized [Music] onions now it’s important to keep on Staring to keep on Staring because we want the onions to cook evenly and to Brown [Music] evenly those beautiful crisp crispy onions will bring out a sweet flavor and will fill your kitchen with a mouth watering Aroma and they taste as good as they smell burn it and you will be putting them on merely everything another secret is to slice them up [Music] thinly I like all kinds of mu and lentils are a Powerhouse of nutrients they rich in dietary fiber protein and fat and bulgar to has too many health benefits a grain that’s extremely high in fiber and protein now look at at our onions they started to put on color and we’re about to remove them using a slotted spoon move them to a plate lined with kitchen paper [Music] tawes wash and drain the lentils and paste them in a b and add three cups of water and bring to a boil cover up and let it simmer over very low heat for 20 minutes and here the lentils are considerably soften transfer to a colander and save the excess [Music] liquid transfer four cup of the oil you caramelize the onions with to a large spot and add the chopped onion and cook and St all the time until the onion wel a bit and changes a bit in color add the lentils bulgor kumin and salt and the lentil breath bring to a boil give a quick stare cover up reduce heat to low and cook for 20 to 25 minuts allowing the Bulger to cook and the flavors develop [Music] together now let’s make the simple tomato and onion salad that goes perfectly with a bulgar ma or any kind of mujat roughly chop the tomatoes and slice the onions to Julian transfer to a bowl add a pinch of dried mint [Music] juice half a lemon add the olive oil garlic salt and some pom grut molasses simple but so delicious and now the pot of Wonder is ready stare well to fluff the bulle and lentils together and transfer to a large serving plate garnish with the caramelized onions and serve with tomato salad or with fatou uh middle e salad plain yogurt I love the very simple dressing of lemon juice olive oil pungut molasses and this tomato salad it goes enticingly well with all types of p madaras includinga with v now look at this beautiful m p can you resist that most probably not the ingredients are in the description box with a link to the printable recipe I have another great M recipe on the channel that goes by the name MRA I’ll provide you with a link too if you like our video give me a thumbs up and follow I would really appreciate your support thank you so much for watching and see you in the coming video who
