What began as a desire to avoid wasting the abundant yield from our Anna apple trees turned into an ambitious canning project.
With 168 pounds of apples processed so far and more still on the trees, our pantry is now stocked with jars of home-canned fruit ready for future pies and desserts.

Friendly reminder that it is not recommended to store your jars with the rings on.

So what was the recipe and process for those apple chunks?
Always nervous when someone says they are a novice with such a large group of jars completed that there could be concerns with proper processing and preservation.
I am concerned with the size of the chunks and the size of the jars themselves for having a large enough pot for proper coverage and heat penetration.

Do you can them in a syrup? Flavoured with anything? I usually make applesauce with our apples.
