Picked up some chilis at the Super Mercado that I’d never seen before. I guess they’re dried Jalapeños, similar to Adobos.
Made a salsa with them using roasted Tomatoes, Onion, Garlic, Jalapeño and Anaheims. Blended the chilis and roasted ingredients with cilantro stems, and finished with lime juice, salt, fresh jalapeños, cilantro and scallions. It was great

These are super delicious! I also recommend picking up some chile de árbol, guajillo, onion, garlic and tomatillos roasting them and blending them. I love it but it kills my stomach!

They’re like chipotle chiles but they aren’t smoked as long.

Chipotle without the adobo – so good!

I love chili morita. I bought six packs of those, deseeded and rehydrated, then blended into a spicy paste to marinate chicken in. So freaking good

Wanna try them. I believe they are smoked jalapenos. I’ve also heard the red smoked jalapenos are even more spectacular

Love them. They have a slightly sweeter taste than chipotles, and almost have a little bit of a raisin smell. They go much better with tomatillos than tomatoes in my opinion.

I like putting these in birria

Morita are picked off the vine far more ripe than chipotle. Same chile, has nothing to do with adobo.

Moritas are my favorite of the smoked jalapeños. Their flavor is so deep and rich.
