at least everything other than the shape is perfect

Macarons are hard to make perfect, but pretty easy to make tasty

Let’s move this over to the relationships subreddit. Now tell us, OP….why are you angry at your mom?

j/k. I’ll bet they still taste good! Who cares about shape!!!! My early batches of macarons were similarly problematic.

  4. Unhappy_Parfait725

It took me several batches to get ones I would share with coworkers, and I still get a wonky batch once in a while

Print out a macaron template offline to place under your parchment paper, other than that patience is the key in everything you do with macarons. Good luck

they look likw red blood cells (compliment)

I’m still trying to get macarons. This look good! You can totally shape them, but it looks like your actual shell came out! Still way better than I’ve ever been able to accomplish!

  8. ahshuddupayaface

They will still taste amazing! When I was learning to make macarons, I used to crush up my mistakes with cream & ice cream into some delicious kind of Eaton-mess.

You honestly need to just work on your piping. Everything else looks great. Maybe another minute or two in the oven.

Took me 4 attempts to get a proper looking batch and these still look much better than my first 3.

Also, which method did you use? I used the French method for my first 3 tries and only started having success when I switched to the Swiss method

    you tried! that’s awesome!

most people don’t post their fails. but macarons are notoriously tough. congrats on the effort!!!

  12. Godwtfamidoing

Who cares? They taste the same, if not better.

  13. Tall-Marionberry6270

Imperfect macarons are far better than no macarons!

If I was your mum I’d love to eat your baking and would be very, very happy with all the effort you’d taken to do this for me.

What a lovely child you are 💖🫶

Honestly, you got all of the hard parts right! Maybe just a tad underbaked. Great job!

  15. CatfromLongIsland

Taste is more important. Pretty will come with practice. And in Mom World the effort and your thoughtfulness are most important of all. ❤️

  16. janedoethefirst

Looks like they have feet and I hear getting that part right is the most difficult ☺️

  17. Aside from shaping they look like a pretty successful first attempt!

  18. Dizzy_Amphibian

Just because they don’t look perfect doesn’t mean they don’t taste good

  19. brokebackzac

Macarons are damn near impossible to get even this right unless conditions are ideal and perfect. I’ve had them mess up because it was a humid day.

  20. cheers2me

This is a really good first try if you ask me!

  21. Badgerenergy144

They take some practice. In fact anything that has just a few ingredients tend to be the hardest to master

  22. starchNpress001

it’s not bad for not using a mold. Can I ask why you didn’t use a mold to help shape them?

  23. StaticCloud

On the GBBO the bakers use templates. Circles that you fill in on parchment paper

  24. iso-my-purpose

I would cry tears of joy if my kids made these for me! You are a very sweet and kind person!!!

  25. asnarkybeach

You did great and I’m sure they taste amazing

  26. I’d embrace it. A funny shape doesn’t make them inedible

  27. pamplemousse_trades

I think your piping technique is mostly there but a small adjustment will make a huge difference. Keep the piping bag completely vertical when you pipe. That way it comes out evenly and will form perfect circles
