Do you prefer the 1M or the 2D for a rosette on cupcakes?

The one on the left, looks much more naturaln

I labeled them wrong in the title. The left one is 2D and the right one is the 1M

  3. Bellatrona

They are both lovely, but I prefer the lighter pink one on the left.

Light pink looks more natural and dark pink more idk classic if that makes sense?

I prefer light pink. It feels more elegant and delicate.

Left it gives it a more airy/natural look and also the center looks better

Seeing this just made me realize why I’m always disappointed with my rosettes. I’m using the wrong tip!

The one on the left for sure. Much more detailed and looks like a rose.

I like the 2D better, and I think it looks much nicer in this picture. But the 1M gets good flow and I have three of them (for “Neapolitan frosting”), so I porbably use it more.

I only use the 2D (left one) for rosettes. Closed star tips lookmore natural and more like a rose to me.

left one is prettier and more delicate looking.

Side by side the left rosette is better.
In reality, without the direct comparison, I wouldn’t notice or care.

i like the one on the left better, the style plus the coloring just really brings the image of a rose together

  13. OpalescentShrooms

The one on the left looks like an actual rose

Closed star gives thinner petals; if your frosting is soft though it doesn’t look as good. Open star covers faster tho.

1M is on the left, yes? That’s always my go-to, looks best imo

I always use the 2D I love them so much ❤️

I prefer the one on the left, it gives more dimention and looks more life like.

Depends on the flavor I’m making. If I make strawberry and have chunks in the frosting, I like the more open one so I don’t have to worry about it clogging. If I make chocolate, then I can use the more closed one without issues.

I’d love to know how to use these tips to make these roses. Definitely NOT the rose technique I’ve seen, with a slanted flat tip doing each petal. (hard as heck unless you have just the right icing)

Neither, I much prefer a 336 🙂 it’s so pretty!! I have pics if anyone wants an example

  21. Truman_Show_Place

The left one looks more intricate but both are beautiful. Nice work!

  22. Tall-Marionberry6270

Both creations look stunning but my preference is the one on the left.

However, I’d need to sample (i.e. EAT!) both cupcakes to be absolutely sure.

    Beautiful work, OP 🧁💕

  23. CatfromLongIsland

Both are pretty, but the one on the left is more rose-like.

  24. JovialPanic389

Whatever is on the left is the rose winner

I’m in love with the left for rosettes but! I love the one on the right for a good old stacked swirl!
