Two 125g patties on a 4-inch brioche. Should I find some 5-inch buns or switch to a potato bun or something?

That doesn’t look too far off to me. I’d be satisfied with that ratio. It looks delicious and filling.

You want more bread? If so use more like 100g patties, most burger joints use 3-4 Oz patties so that’s about 80-120g. You could do 3 seperate 3 Oz patties and still be at the same weight as 2 125g patties. Or if it’s perfect and you just want more bread but not less meat, yeah just get bigger buns lol

Buying the standard sized, orange-package brioche buns along with either 1 – 4oz patty, or 2 – 2.5-3oz smashed patties seems to be the sweet spot for me.

You could do a,triple stack and add a one more slice in between but let’s face it more meat is always better then more bread

Just use whatever ratio you like. When you’re cooking for yourself, do whatever pleases you!

Only thing I would do is add a bit more “salad.” In the last couple years I’ve moved to using a few big leaves of Boston lettuce or a similar soft, dark green. Plus a reasonably thick slice of local tomato that I salt one side of. Onions and pickles of course.

They are slightly bigger but I would definitely not consider them TOO big, that burger looks incredible my friend

4oz max I usually shoot for 3.3 oz patties and smash!

I do 2x 90g patties normally because that suits my tastes.

Are you in Aus mate? What cheese are you using?

250kg is a good-sized burger. For us Americans that’s roughly half a pound.

The real answer is I’m as discerning as a starved pig. I’ll have a piece of bread with a half pound sandwich, I’ve had a POUND burger on a bun that size.

But my favorite is a bun that size and 2 smashed patties about 1/5lb (90g) each.

  13. Smash my burgers out as thin as I can usually the size of a dinner plate and use that GV bread that’s wider than usual harder to do with sesame buns
