This is my first time growing slicing cucumbers so I don’t know if this is normal. I have two plants that are producing the same looking cucumbers. Are these going to plump up or stay skinny and continue to grow longer? If they are going to stay skinny, what causes this?

How often are you watering them?
Cause they’re still growing. Mine will grow to length (or close to it) then plump up
They are still growing
OP [walks into an elementary school]: “Why are these people so small?”
Skinny — but with regular shape — is *good*; it means you can let them get pretty large before they’ll get overly seedy.
Looks like an “asian” type anyways, which are usually longer and thinner than the typical slicers (such as Straight 8, Poinsett, etc).
They’re a grower, not a shower
This is the pre-sliced variety!
Because it looks like it got pollinated 20 hours ago
It’s probably just the breed. I have tasty greens and they also grow hilariously long and skinny before gaining some girth 😉
More phosphorus, less Ozempic.
they id as pickles.
They’re young.
I only have jokes.
What are you talking about that Thing is Huge!!!
I’d say that they are a pretty good size…
Honestly, I would try that now. It looks delicate and yummy.
The cucumbers I grew also started out so small and thin. They do get bigger. Or at least in my experience. I’ve only really grown them once so I’m in no means a professional
I really like them. What is the name of the variety?
Never seen this as I haven’t grown this variety, it definitely gave me a chuckle!
Hey man, cmon dont get down on yourself. Length matters more than girth..
R-right guys? RIGHT???!
They look like Asian cucumbers
This is how my Japanese cucumbers look! I harvest them maybe a day or two from what you have there. They’ve been delicious! I have to peel mine though. A bit thorny
They still have their friggin’ blossoms on. Have patience.
Those will be beautiful!
What variety are they? Different cukes have different growth habits.
Soil looks dry, they’re going to take 7-12days to mature.
Cover the soil with 5mm of sugarcane mulch & ensure the moisture remains constant.
English cuke ?
It’s a grower, not a show-er
girth is more important than length
You forgot to add the Viagra.
We can’t help genetics, some are born long and thin, others are short and fat…the more you play with it doesn’t help though 🤷♂️
I don’t know if this is related, but my aunt is a farmer and told me that a lot of farmers are having issues with their cucumbers and squash plants not getting pollinated by bees this year. They’ve been having to pollinate their own plants to get them to fruit. May be why your cucumbers look that way? Maybe they were pollinated late
