Tri-tip sous vide then seared on cast iron. Pretty proud of this one myself. Served it with mashed potatoes and Caesar salad. Whole family loved it. My son had seconds and then two more slices an hour later. There are no left overs.

Doesn’t matter what any of us think. Your spawn loved it, and that’s all that matters! With that being said, you looking to adopt?

Looks a bit overcooked to me. But hey as long as it’s still tender it’s all good. 🙂

Looks great! Only critique is evening out that crust a little more. She’s a beauty on the inside

Honestly, that is the PERFECT color for me. My god, I’m drooling.

Looks great! Only tweak I can suggest is to hold the tri-tip vertically with your tongs and sear the sides, also.

I can hear those dad tongs clanging from here

Your son will remember your cooking.

My father used to cook in our household.

I was spoiled with good food.

Im now 30 years old and still aspire to be half the chef my father is.

Looks like it was cut with the grain instead of across. Otherwise seems solid

If I received that compliment from my son, it would indeed be the best dinner of my life too

What temperature did you sous vide? Looks perfect.

It’s looks great and sounds like it was even better! Making family memories that your son will remember for the rest of his life. I’d say you did amazing.

  12. Looks good.. if that’s tri-tip though I would slice it much more thinly to give it a better mouth chew at a medium cook.

Your son gave you all the validation you should need. Why do you need internet strangers on top of that? How could it compare?

Does it really matter what internet people think of your cooking when you’ve already received the highest praise?

  15. A complement from your child beats any other option…
