My wife bought a cut labelled "beef shoulder" (pictured here), is this the same as a "beef shoulder clod" or a "chuck roast"?

I feel like I'm getting lost reading about the seemingly endless different ways you can slice beef.

How should I cook it? I have a Kamado Joe that could be put to use, so maybe that?

Wow! Nice looking cut. Beef shoulder is called Chuck here.

You can get some great steaks out of that and use the rest for beef stew.

Google “how to cut chuck eye and Denver steaks from a chuck”. That should give you an idea what to look for when cutting up. Guinness Beef Stew is a good way to try the rest. We found a recipe with barley (Harry Potter) that’s good.

Can’t tell how big it is from the photos so I’m not 100% sure, but i believe this is a shoulder clod and not a chuckroll. I would not process this into steaks but rather beef for stew or a nice roast.
