All things considered, they're actually really tasty. I thought it was going to be a ridiculous novelty at first, but they appear to have put a lot of effort into making some delicious crisps. The box is full of warnings like: don't eat if you're pregnant or have a weak stomach, eat them with your friends nearby in case you need help, don't eat if you're under 18, if you're timid then don't use the full spice packet.
The spice level is high, obviously; easily the spiciest crisps I've ever tasted. I got a quarter of the way down before it became a bit painful, and almost half way before I decided to seal the pack and finish later. I'd describe the flavour as similar to vindaloo. For reference, I enjoy things like Buldak 2x, Blair's Death Sauce, and I like to get the spiciest options at Indian restaurants (although I don't suggest that my tolerance is sky-high, I'm more at enthusiast level).
I'd definitely recommend these if you can get hold of them, especially if you're a curry fan. They're made by Isoyama Shoji (磯山商事) and you can check out what else they make here: http://isoyama-shoji.co.jp/

“If you are timid or dont have the guts” got me lol. How do they compare to paqui ghost pepper? Those are the spiciest chips ive been able to find
Put them on my amazon wish list but at ¥2,100 for 80g it’s not a priority.
I figured it was just a case of Japanese spice tolerance being low and kids being dumb.
The curry is also pretty Damn spicy but and fun if you actually make it into a functional curry meal by adding vegetables and meat.
