I had $25 to create meals for myself for the week and I wanted to include higher protein options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I was focusing on creating high protein meals that are lower in fat, low sugar, and naturally gluten-free for this meal plan. I also included a few high protein dessert and snack ideas at the end of the video.

This meal plan is to provide inspiration and I encourage you to customize it to work for you.

  1. Did you read my drs email to me about my test results and do this just for me? 😂
I literally just got recommendations for what I need to be doing and this looks like it pretty much covers it lol. Plus the budget part is just what I need as usual too. Excited to watch! Thanks so much! ❤

  2. Have you ever tried Butler's Soy Curls? High protein, low fat, can make a variety of different flavored dishes with them. The texture is very meat like. And they're cheaper than meat in many cases. I've made a teriyaki "beef" stir fry and some jerky. I use the vegetarian Better Than Bouillion soup bases for these recipes, and I've recently started adding a little bit of Marmite along with the bouillions..for soups especially.
But of course you can use meat based broths too.

  3. Many channels who do low income food challenges rely on pasta, rice, tortillas , potatos, beans. All are good foods but little variety. I like your videos because they are not all the same recipes.

  4. I really appreciate your videos! We don't eat semolina pasts, white rice or potatoes (like em but not enough to have often).
Legume pasts are so good. If you make a legume pasta mac & cheese and are going to finish it in the oven with a crunchy topping, it has to be undercooked (on stovetop) about 2-2.5 minutes. If it's not undercooked, by the time the sauce is added and it's baked, you end up with a fairly firm blob. Ask me how I know! 😂 We don't waste food do we ate some that night. The rest I blended with extra liquid, portioned, froze and used as a soup base … white chicken chili, broccoli cheese, taco soup … worked perfectly!
I want to make the spinach wraps. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can ..
    Thanks for your hard work.

  5. Do you add cottage cheese because of the protein? I've never used it and am in wondering if you could just omit it for the pasta?

  6. Nice ideas mine would end up costing more because we're allergic to seafood and shellfish side have to buy canned chicken and not one person in my house will eat green bell peppers so we had to buy the multicolored ones

  7. A dozen eggs at Aldi near me is $2.49. In fact, most of the items you purchased cost a great deal more where I live. I am so jealous.

  8. Thanks for this. Now do dairy free and gluten free😊. I'm teasing. Thanks for the ideas

  9. Thought of you when I was at Aldis today. After check out there was a huge box of free bananas. I took 5 and came up e and made bread.

  10. As a diabetic, the low fat dairy has more sugar and carbs…. I wonder how many carbs is in this meal plan…

  11. Suggestion: if you haven’t tried it already, look up Trisha Yearwoods black bean lasagna. It’s good and budget friendly!

  12. High fat = full flavor and feeling satisfied! I would have picked the high fat versions as the low fat versions have sugar added to maintain flavor, and hubby and I are on a low sugar diet. Great video though! I make all my own breads as hubby is gluten intolerant. With home baked breads you can ensure they have a proper 8 hours proof time for proper gluten formation instead of the modern commercial 2 hour proof ( pretty much all folks who are 'gluten intolerant' are just intolerant to the modern 'make money by skipping the natural gluten forming 2 hour process" products.) Totally going to try out that cottage cheese bake and sub the spinach with some zucchinis a friend gave me today, that looks so good! Would be great to add to lunch boxes too with some hot sauce on top, yum!

  13. Another great video. I love your ideas. I’ve been sharing your videos with my daughters. Keep doing what you’re doing.

  14. PEOPLES, Please WASH BAGGED VEGETABLES……..as well as loose vegetables and fruits to help keep you from getting sick……they could contain viruses and bacterias……that can really make you sick……or possibility of death…….if they are infected…….

  15. Fat is very important to your diet, especially animal fat. Low-fat foods have additives that cause you to actually gain weight.
I am planning a high protein diet, high fat diet (as close to carnivore as possible)

  16. Thank you Laura for all of the work that you put into your videos I know it's an extreme amount of effort. you take time from your family to do it I personally appreciate it and I enjoy your recipes

  17. This was great! I usually make a veggie egg casserole for the week as well. I use Feta instead of cheddar and add mushrooms and peppers in addition to spinach. The great thing is you can really make it your own. I just started adding cottage cheese to up the protein I recently realized that I was not eating enough protein, so this video was timely..

  18. I love your videos so much!! Grocery shopping for a single person meal plan is hard in several ways, but you managed to make it easy and nutritious (and NOT BORING, I am so over chicken thighs with veggies), as always. Heading to Aldi today!

  19. New here…. Loved the video! Thanks for the great tips, tricks, and ideas! Also, your dog is just beautiful! Love his/her sweet white face! ❤
