On vacation for a few days in a small town and the local market has a nice collection. What would you recommend given this selection? I know there are a lot of gimic sauces out there like the ones you get in gift packs that just taste like flavored vinegar. Don't want that. Looking for somehing with great flavor and heat. I love the Melindas XXX reserve, scorpion and Yellowbird habenaro.

Matouks West Indian on the bottom is really nice

Image is a little low res to be able to read a lot of the labels, but the Gator Hammock sauces, Iguana sauces, Marie Sharp’s (Belizean Heat is my fav), and the Dave’s Scorpion and Masala Madness are all good picks.

    EDIT:

The Georgia Peach and Vidalia Onion sauce is barely hot but it’s super tasty.

I haven’t tried them but I’ve heard good things about Culley’s sauces.

You post should be ” how good is your vision ” lol
Anything with the perfect mix of heat and flavor…i personally prefer habenero sauces with lemon or blueberry.

Whatever you do, please pick Marie Sharp’s over Melinda’s. Melinda’s is a copycat (literally) except they make it so acidic that you can’t taste any of the flavours. The Melinda mango hot sauce is a vinegary joke.

Prof. Phardtpounders colon cleaner. It’s a good mustard sauce.

    Matouks

Daves and melindas are always my go to

Where do you live? That is an amazing selection

Marie Sharps Belizean Heat and Nopal Green, swamp gator, skip all Dave’s shelf

  9. InPsychOut

Putting Melinda’s right next to Marie Sharps like that is just asking for trouble. Someone’s getting knifed.

Any of those Marie Sharp’s sauces are mighty fine choices

I can’t see if they have It as one of the bottles is turned. But if they have the Culleys #9 it’s pretty damn good.

Very bottom right, Culley’s King Wing sauce is the best wing sauce I’ve ever had.

Any of the Marie Sharp sauces but I like to put BEWARE on my Doritos.

Bhut Jolokia / Ghost Pepper Melinda’s are both excellent.

Echoing what another commenter said, if that’s Culley’s #9 turned around then that is a delicious sauce.

Very top left Hellacious is easy to put on everything.

Bottom left High River Rogue is a bit watery (and the coloration here looks off) but it’s a very good “sweet” sauce.

All el yucateco sauces, and the ones with the iguana on them. I forget the brand but I really liked all 3-4 that I tried.

  15. Anything Marie Sharp’s is pretty good, especially their habanero sauce!

Marie Sharp’s Beware sauce is the absolute best on tacos. I’ll take this to my grave.

Considering I can find most of those in the recs in the comments before mine, I’d go for some of the Dave’s.

That being said Melinda’s and El yucatecos are solid choices. I can’t really see some of the other labels will… bit the bottles with the bubble numbers look like they might be good?!

Imo ghost pepper hot sauces have the perfect balance between flavor and real kick ass heat.
