I get these small charcuterie boards at the winery near my home. They always have this cheese and it might be my all time favorite. It’s peppered and has a distinct taste. It’s definitely a “stinky cheese” & reminds me of Parmesan, but a lot stronger. It’s amazing with peppered salami. I keep forgetting to ask the winery.

    Looks and sounds like something similar to pecorino pepato, a sheep’s milk cheese with peppercorns.

  2. I agree with pecorino. Make sure you ask next time and let us know. I’ve only had it once or twice and never see it in my area.

    Looks like an old one so “stagionato”.

    One of my alltime favourites.
