I've been eating ribeye and chuck eye exclusively for almost 3 years now. I feel like I can't downgrade. What other steak cuts should I try?

Ribeye is the best to me. But I will not turn down other cuts.

NY Strip, Picanha, and a cheap Denver cut for tacos are the only other cuts I get.

Flap, hangar steak, and Picanha some other good options.

  4. I mean, if you can afford it, it’s the best, so why not

I’ve been a rib steak guy for years and just started buying strip loin steaks and i like them 1 inch thick or more , no BBQ sauce just S&P pre heat BBQ to 500 F , clean grill add steak , turn heat down to low , close lid , set timer for 7 mins then flip 7 mins more and server , my last steak was 1-1/2 inch thick took 8 mins a side for medium rare and good beef flavor

i like the variety to be honest, every steak has a purpose in the gods’ eyes

You can eat all the steaks my friend. Variety is the spice of life

Skirt steak, NY strip, coulotte and tenderloin are my favorites.

Hell no, arguably the best part of it is the cap anyway (spinalis dorsi) ny strip, flat iron, picanha, hanger and eye fillet are all better IMO.

No. Filet, NY Strip, Sirloin, flank why limit yourself to one cut

Life is too short to eat only 1 kind of steak

  12. I’m a ribeye person myself. I will eat a filet or ny strip if ribeye isn’t available for some reason, but they just aren’t as good. I would try hanger or others given the opportunity, but a good ribeye is just heavenly.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad ribeye. Even a slightly overdone ribeye still tastes good if it’s seasoned well. Can’t say the same for the leaner cuts

In terms of steaks that I feel are similar yet different, NY strip is my go to for this kind of style. Not sure why but they always come out incredible for me lol. Porterhouse and T-bone also are nice.

The cut you should eat is the one you enjoy the most. And can afford lol.

All steaks are good steaks if done properly. I’ve even eaten eye of round cut into steaks. Was it tough? Yeah pretty tough. Was it delicious? Fuck yes.

  17. I’m new to this sub and was wondering why no one was suggesting Entrecote cause its my favorite and turns out its literally ribeye hahah.

Filet, short rib, skirt, brisket done slow (guess this isn’t a steak tho)

Variety is a life of spices. Try new things. Try many things. Don’t let yourself fall into a rut.

I love T-Bone, idk why nobody else likes it herr but holy moly sheeeesh wow omg and whatever rizz is hip at the moment

Ny and Tbone/Porterhouse both top the ribeye for me personally

Ribeye is nice 👌 try a tomahawk or bavette

There are many great cuts for different things but ribeye is the goat. Several people always say NY, and I keep trying it, and every time I think to myself, “I wish this was a ribeye”.

I know what you mean. Once you’re spoiled by the rib and chuck eyes it’s hard to go back! No other cuts quite like them with that deep rich flavor! Not to be said that there’s not other great cuts as well but I’ve personally found it hard to buy any other steak. I do enjoy getting chuck roasts and short ribs or oxtails and searing then braising them down to a soft and pull apart pot of goodness! You could also get skirt and cook it up however you want but fajitas would be best! I’d recommend another cut like a good Tri Tip or some prime quality New York’s on the grill as well or even a nice tenderloin filet but there’s nothing quite like a nice chuck or rib eye honestly! I’m sure you know all of this, just my two cents 🙂

You can’t go wrong with a good marinated skirt steak. I try to find ones with the mechanical tenderizer marks for good penetration of all that flavor.

Eat the whole cow, is my philosophy.

With a few exceptions (not a great fan of most offal).

NY cut, Denver, picanha, tomahawk, porterhouse, tenderloin, strip, hangar, flank, chewy chuck roast…blah, blah, blah…Nuttin’ compares to Ribeye.

When cooked properly (med to med rare over charcoal), ribeye has the best combination: the tenderness, salty, and beefy flavor of the cap, the heavenly aroma of the sear and wonderful bite of the eye, and the beautifully rendered fat and gristle that melt in your mouth — all of this is the reason why Ribeyes will always be King in my world.

I eat a lot of ribeyes. That’s my go-to cut. But I also eat t what I want, so also NYS, porterhouse, t-bone, salmon, ground beef, spam (🤘🏼‼️), and chicken thighs bone-in with skin. Just eat.

    Marinate a nice skirt steak…make a deliciously tender filet…
