We had a wonderful meal here for our anniversary. It’s like Daniel but less fussy. we did the 3 course prix fixe which is not cheap but was absolutely delicious and a good amount of food. I had the tuna, chicken, and chocolate hazelnut cremeux and all were delicious. My fiancé had the gazpacho, beef, and cherry vanilla dessert, and ditto. It really felt like 2 Michelin star quality. I think I actually enjoyed it more than Daniel because the food was equally tasty (and the presentation was nearly as beautiful) but it was just less pretentious and more relaxed. Highly, highly recommend.

I’m glad it tasted good, but I just can’t get over how boring the menu and pictures look. It’s like a fancypants chef went into a coma in ’07, just woke up, and opened a restaurant. Just weirdly dated stuff, imo.

I guess that’s Boulud’s schtick at this point, though. He’s analogous to a musical legacy act. Like the two surviving members of The Zombies who are still out there, playing at regional venues that hold under a 1,000 people who all only want to hear “Time of the Season.” That’s Boulud at Le Pavillion.
