Incredible meal at Odette last night – friendly, personable service, great wine and most importantly delicious food.
From the top:
Cheese and ham ‘donut’
Raw prawn taco with tomato salsa
Onion tart with coffee
Mushroom soup with a mushroom tart
Kalamata olive bread and another bread but I was too excited about the olives to listen.
Garlic and parsley butter and Spanish olive oil.
Uni toast
Red prawn and uni tartare, with mussel cream and caviar (and I got extra caviar for being nice). This was definitely the best dish. Absolute decadence on a plate and so well balanced.
Crab with nashi pear and Granny Smith jelly
63.5 degree egg with smoked ratte potato foam and chorizo iberico
The big plate of truffles is actually a langoustine ravioli with leeks and a sauce I can’t remember and then truffles too. This was a supplement but I got it gratis because there was some uni shell in the aforementioned prawn tartare dish – I think the vast amount of truffles portrays them making up for this also.
Abalone and foie gras in a mild pork broth with pickled shitake. This was sensational.
Sea bream with a watercress sauce, prawn and squid. Really lovely.
Pigeon for main, with cherries and they also brought out a bao bun about halfway through filled with the heart and liver that was sooo good.
Incredible cheese selection and they do their own calvados soaked Camembert which I loved.
I can’t remember what the desserts were as the wine pairing took its hands at that point, but they were also delicious!

I loved Odette, especially that it was in the national gallery.
Delicious!
