I'm just starting to try my hand at cookies. Less jam next time.

  1. Looks good. To up the presentation you could mix a bit of powdered sugar and a tiny bit of water and drizzle over the top.

I’ve also done it with cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a bit of water, for a cream cheese drizzle.

This does not look like a first attempt—you obviously have some skills in this area! They look tasty.

Beautiful job!! I make a raspberry one for the holidays and do a little lemon icing drizzle of the top.

Would you be willing to share the recipe? Had a recipe that looked just like this when they’re done right, but somewhere along the line an ingredient was missed and now they come out flat

They look wonderful! Truly a beloved classic cookie. And yet, despite nearly 50 years of hobby baking I have never made thumbprint cookies. I think you inspired me to add this cookie to my List of Things I Want To Bake. 😁

    They look good.

I make good thumbprint cookies and when people compliment, I tell them it’s all in the lick of the thumb 😉

For the holidays, I roll these in egg wash/crushed walnuts and then use colored buttercream instead of jam. They’re one of the most popular options on any cookie tray

  9. My mom used to make those. I forgot about them until I saw your delious cookies. Nice bake!

They look like red eyes. Might make great cookies for Halloween. What kind of jam is in it?

  12. Yummy! I love these things. Now I need to make some.

  13. My family makes these for our Christmas cookie event every year! I highly recommend trying guava jam!
