I’m a stay at home mom with two young children. Figured the best way to cut all my tomatoes was to bring it all I the living room. My son just sat there supervising.
I ended up cutting two huge trays of tomatoes right on my couch. He's climbing on everything and it would of taken me ages to cut them all in the kitchen; constantly going back and forth checking of my kids.

My grandmother would peel potatoes while we watched tv. I did it with my own and now my grandson.

My grandma used to shell peas and hull strawberries while we played in the lake. I am pretty sure we ate about 90% of her output before it got processed.

The way to do it Mama! Personally I prefer the porch and use it for all the prep tasks. Peas, green beans, elderberries, pitting cherries. I love seeing anyone embracing the prep. Sometimes all you hear is how “hard” it is.

Also a SAHM here. My 3.5 year old is super into helping. I got her a toddler friendly kitchen set that comes with a knife and cutting board. I set her up with old mushy vegetables from the garden (or sometimes the fridge 😯) basically whatever I can find that I am going to compost/throw out. And let her go to town! She cuts up everything puts it in a bowl. Adds water, whatever I am doing. I even let her put it in a canning jar and seal it. It is the most god awful disgusting bomb of grossness but man does it keep her occupied and I can do my thing. It’s super fun to “can” together.
