I’ve been trapped on my property for a few days due to some major flooding caused by a recent tropical storm, and I’m out of flour with no way to get more groceries for at least a few days. So I decided to try and make some bread out of rice like a cool instagram recipe I found. It did not turn out great, on the bright side, it smells fantastic.

That is fascinating. I’ve never seen bread do that before, just WOW! 😭
o-kay, let‘s get creative, what else *do* you have on hand? Like, oats, linseed, eggs, anything like that?

I had a gluten free concoction do that to me once. Was like an erupting volcano spewing lava over the sides.

Incorrect, you successfully found an inefficient way to make crackers
If you have any leftover rice flour, you could consider doing Chinese steamed rice “cake” 蒸米糕. It’s rice flour with yeast and a bit of sugar, it turns into a fluffy muffin after steaming.
I’ve successfully made this and it’s the most amazing bread I’ve ever had.
Better rice bread then I’ve ever made.

If you want an amazing rice bread, try this.
Unfortunately a lot of Pinterest, Facebook, and instagram recipes are made by AI recently. The pages just mass-create fake recipes and post them to farm likes, and the recipes are shit bc of it :/ maybe this is why the recipe failed so bad lol
That’ll teach you
Does it make a difference if you use “glutinous” rice flour? I’ve often wondered what the real difference is.
We have [rice flat breads](https://www.tarladalal.com/chawal-bhakri-40160r) in India if you’re interested! They go well with spicy curries.
