The sardine sandwich is the Holy Grail of bread, men, and minnows. Childhood dream to open a coastal bar that served only variations of sardine sandwiches. Maybe in another life…It would have been called “uncanny” or something similar. Sourdough, salted rims, and regulars. Shitty stupid life goals

I should have said first, nice sandwich!

Looks great! Years ago Alton Brown did this appetizer of toasted baguette, half a sardine, drizzled with balsamic vinegar. I made it later, and yes, it was amazing. Esp if you use the balsamic glaze because its thicker.

  4. Peppercorn sardines, I have not heard of that. Interesting.

So weird- I made the same thing after watching the same video tonight. One of my new favorite sandwiches.

Silly question (never eaten a sardine before) do you just eat it bones and all? Or are the bones removed? Or is it like eel where its so insignificant it doesnt hurt?

USA Woman – Cheers but, …the lemon juice at the end, caused me to consider calling ‘Erl!

Looks amazing! But I have to say I thought it was butter and I think it would be better (no weird pun intended) I also have to admit I don’t know what kewpie is

Thank you for this!! I was just lamenting about how I had no food in the house! I have bread and sardines!
