I love how in the US all the top omakase sushi places brag about their fish all being flown in from Japan but at Koy Shunka in Barcelona, they proudly showcase only local seafood and it is all incredible. This time I did the smaller omakase course but it was stil a satisfying amount of food. The knife work is delicate and the aged bonito and the kelp wrapped hirame and toro were all next level delicious and perfect in texture. Also that wagyu was so beautifully prepared. I highly recommend it when you are in Barcelona.

I went last summer! Couldn’t agree more and so glad I made the trip. The toro was probably the best bite I’ve ever had. Happy to hear you loved it too!!

I adore Barcelona and Catalan cuisine, I’d love to see how those influences play on a sushi menu.

A lot of the tuna sold at tsukiji/Toyosu are caught near Spain.
