Ok it's been about 2 months and I tried opening. The seal originally failed but now the lid won't pop when I touch and the ring is stuck. Is it gas buildup, I don't see Khamenei but I think a mother formed.

    Run hot tap water over the lid and band for 20 seconds or so, then gently tap the top of the jar against the edge of the counter a couple of times and use a dish towel for grip and you should be able to unscrew it.

    I use an oil filter strap when my sauerkraut jars get stuck.

    I’ve been in a similar situation where no other tick helped so at the end of the day, if you’re okay with trashing the lid you could punch a small hole to release the pressure. I use a Philips head screwdriver as a punch in these cases
