good guy tabasco saving troops from dumbass bureaucrats. little things make a big difference.

Somebody somewhere had a genius idea to shave 20 grams off of the MRE kit weight while noticeably affecting a soldiers ability to enjoy some of the less than gourmet options on offer.

That shit probably got used up in like a week. But what a week!

Just another reason tabasco is the best

The entire reason I became a chili head in the Army at 19 was the tiny Tabasco bottles in my MREs. I used to trade the coveted spaghetti for both corned beef hash and omelet because I loved dousing them in Tabasco.

I love how the community is coming around on Tabasco. A few years ago even mentioning Tabasco was met with “Ick vinegar” and downvotes, now people are embracing it again.
Same happened in the whiskey community with Jack Daniels, community is coming around to understand the high end Jack is actually really, really good (easiest to find offering is Jack Daniel single barrel barrel proof).

One can buy Tobasco condiment packets in bulk as well. I like to include a couple handfuls in my [Anysoldier.com](https://www.anysoldier.com) shipments.

I hated hated hot sauce as a kid. I wasn’t a fan of spicy food either.
Oh how Uncle Sam changed all that. There’s plenty of nasty azz food they served us that the only way I was able to stomach it was the Tabasco sauce. Which then kicked off my love for spicy food.
There were times the best tasting part of the meal was the tobacco (Tabasco) sauce.
That’s got to suck azz, not having it in the mre’s. I saved the bottle from my last mre as a memento. I still have it. I remember wanting to use it too but knew it was my last official mre.
Awesome that they did that!!!!! A good reminder I need to grab a bottle for the house.
It’s my preferred breakfast hot sauce. I made my son my signature big breakfast sandwich (been a fav since he was little) the day before he left for college and realized I was out Tabasco.

This made my dark heart happy. ♥️

Hopefully, they’re not being stored in desert heat. Those plastic bottles will leach microplastics into the sauce at an accelerated rate under those conditions.

“Tobacco sauce”? I don’t think I wanna know what that’s about… /s
(If that’s a common nickname in the military, then my bad for not knowing.)

Robby McDonald shall forever be venerated as the patron saint of keeping our men and women overseas adequately spiced.

The military breeds more spicy food lovers than any single social institution in existence. Everything is pretty palatable when you dip it in straight hot sauce. Every DFAC I’ve ever been in had a bottle of franks/texas pete/tabasco at every table.
