Nice, I was just thinking I’d do the same soon.

I’m visiting Utah, and there’s fresh hatch chile for $1.49/lb. I’ve got a batch of green chile stew on the stove.

But I was just thinking that I need to roast a big batch and freeze to take home

Towards the end of the season, Central Market has them .99/lb. Hatch chiles might be the number one reason I move to New Mexico haha

Believe it or not, in New Mexico at most grocery stores (Albertsons, Smiths), Green Chile is fresh roasted outside while you wait.

Our MacDonalds, Whataburger etc..has green chile as an option.

You know I’ve never had these, but I’ve always wanted to try them. I have family that lives in the area so they’re always posting on Facebook about them. What do they taste like are they like a green pepper? I usually don’t really care for green peppers it’s the green flavor.

  5. These peppers come to Ohio too, but I don’t think they’re sending their best because I don’t know what the fuss is about. It’s basically just Anaheim + Jalapeno here. Enlighten me, what would I be tasting if I was in NM?

You could use less plastic if you use a silicon mini muffin tray to freeze them, then pop them out and put them all in one larger bag. That bag could also be reusable. Stepping down now.
