I would plant these even if I never got a single squash. My garden friends love them

This is 110% why I dedicated an entire garden bed this year to dill, milkweed, and lavender. ❤️ I like to see my garden pals thrive too.

The spotted cucumber beetle can F right off though.

Lucky! My squash have recovered from SVB surgery and finally have lots of open female flowers just in time for the bees around here to take a break (lots of rain and fall temps here in NJ).

Every once in a while I go out in the afternoon to pick squash flowers for dinner and am startled by the bees sleeping inside of them. The flowers close up a bit during the heat of the day so I pick the flowers and then feel the buzzing in my hand as the bees wake up. I just open up the petals and they go on their way.

Mine are just covered with ants, lol, but I see no other issues and getting tons of fruit, so I’m letting the ants be, they must be adding in pollination. I have zinnias and marigolds in the garden this year, so I have pollinators galore this year and I’m loving it. However, I’ve been stung twice just reaching out to touch a pretty flower and inadvertently disturbing a resting bumble.

    🥰😍❤️
The squash bees were having a heyday in my mini jack pumpkin flowers, it was so cool to see.

I love seeing multiple fat bees having a great time in these flowers

Winter Squash has taken over my entire garden and is producing one squash but as long as the bees are happy!
