Honestly that looks so yummy if it’s a shortbread, with a tempered batter release.
Looks like your oven gave up halfway through, and turned off. Hard to make that intentionally, as a lava bread, and get it right.

This would be so disappointing! Maybe temp your bread with a thermometer? I do this just to check that my timing on a recipe is right.

Thought it was a “pasticciotto” a typical leccese (Apulian) sweet. Btw doesn’t matter it looks good too!

how? wow lol. I’ve made some shit bread when I was learning, never in my life have I seen this happen, was it frozen when you cooked it? please enlighten us

Now would be the time to buy a thermal pen. You’ll know bread is cooked when it hits 200+ deg F.
Also a great tool for meats as well.

Oh… Wow. That’s… Wow.

Looks underbaked. Put it back in for a few minutes and see what happens.

This subreddit continues to amaze me with the various ways people can fuck up bread.

Love it. Bread that comes with its own dip.

I did this years ago when I cooked a loaf visually without a thermometer. I didn’t realize that bread has to be cooked hotter than your average dinner. Many bread recipes call for an internal temp of 200F whereas other meals you might cook only call for 145-160F. It was definitely an adjustment.
Then there’s the recipes that call for the “clean toothpick test” that banana bread recipes often call for or “clean knife test” that pudding or pie fillings call for instead of an internal temperature. Modern recipes will have the temperatures added but the old fashioned recipes handed down won’t have such things. Knowing something was done is one of those generational knowledge things that I think we almost lost. My grandmother taught me a lot but I feel there is a wealth of knowledge lost with her generation.

I’m… I’m not sure you did, to be honest
