I love this Starbucks caramel, but unfortunately my local Target no longer carries it. I believe it’s manufactured by Nespresso and is not third party. So last time I had to order it thru the mail from Target, and I didn’t figure it out right away but 2 of the 10 pods were leaking coffee thru the foil lid which weren’t fully attached. Usually these things are inflated a little, so I wondered if maybe they could have “popped” in shipping or something. It’s subtle up until they begin to make a huge mess because the coffee is finely ground and gets everywhere.

I had trouble figuring out who to contact about these, Starbucks sent me to Nestle who sent me to Nespresso. At that point I gave up and contacted Target, but I’m mainly posting to ask whether popped capsules are an issue with online-purchased Nespresso OL pods. Because I’m addicted to caramel Starbucks now and I’ll have to buy it online from now on!

On a side note, I am drinking far more coffee than I ever used to. Love the OL machine and coffee. The small serving size is a feature, not a bug!

I’ve had mine for a couple years, I’ve never seen that.

Try Walmart for the Nespresso pods. That’s where I usually find them. But yeah that’s weird. Must’ve gotten damaged in shipping or when someone was stocking them..

If you ordered it from Target, then get your refund or replacement from them. It’s their problem to chase it up the chain, and should be their responsibility to make you whole upfront.

Damaged pods aren’t uncommon, dented pods are generally fine to use, as long as they’re not popped – usually due to impact damage or rough handling.

I personally don’t order these pods or buy them but my bf does. He’s bought in store and only had this once. In m opinion it’s probably difference in pressure or the box itself was somehow damaged. I’d try picking these up from a store and see what happens
