People in the office gave her the stink eye, but my colleague & I loved our boss’ daily breakfast. This was 20 years ago, but I still make them every once in a while:
- Toasted Bagel
- Cream Cheese
- Crisp Bacon
It’s the saltiness from the bacon that makes it work. Of course turkey bacon, soft bacon, etc. would all be good, but crispy, salty bacon is key for this to be optimal. Bagel shouldn’t be a sweet variation like berry, cinnamon, etc. I used everything bacon today. Asiago, veggie, even plain bagels work.

Bacon and Cream cheese is oh so good. The only issue you run into is the hot bagel and hot bacon melting your cream cheese making it super messy to eat but yeah, this combo is insane!
Well now I’m hungry again. I would destroy that anywhere, anyplace, anytime.
I love this for breakfast and will sometimes throw an egg on its though that can be a bit messy if not layered correctly.
This plus a fried egg is my husband’s favorite sandwich. I don’t understand why anyone would give her the stink eye over this.

That’s a common combination at my shop. Personally, I use a scallion or a jalapeno cream cheese with bacon and occasionally add a slice of tomato to give it color and freshness.
But a lot of my customers order the “SMB” or “Seoul Meets Bagel”.
Worked in a Panera-ish restaurant 25 years ago and a guy came in to order two of these every day. I tried it then and holy mackerel was he on to something.👍👍

EVERYTHING BACON?
Used to have a coffee and bagel shop down the street from my house…this is the only thing I’d order. They’d put 6 pieces of bacon on it, too! Felt so greasy after, but so good.
I do these and drown it in tapatio sauce.
These are great but my husband and I disagree on the bagel used. And now he does not like texture due to mouth/teeth issues. But I still do it and I just don’t toast his or I’ll grill it with some light butter first. I’ve also found that he likes English Muffins done in the same way. And cream cheese works in both or whatever cheese you like. I’ve been adding veggies and he loves tomatoes.
Phew! Long day so I’ll take 2 to go please?

Also as a combo I’ve messed with. Sliced deli turkey(not too many, 2 does the trick), bacon, cream cheese, tomato, on a bagel. If you’re feeling crazy press some crumbled Cool Ranch or Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos into the cream cheese. Yummo
So so so good. Learned it from a pregnant woman in Dunkin’ Donuts when I was 14 lol
