I ordered a picanha from the butcher. They went to the back to get it so I didn't see it. This doesn't look like it to me, I think it's a tri-tip but can't tell for sure

It looks like a triangle and you can make tips out of it…. Must be a tri tip. You can really tell by how the grain presents.

You are correct about it being a tri-tip!

Definitely tri tip, been in the meat business a long time and many shops use picanha and tri tips interchangeably which they are not. I try to educate customers every chance I get and tell them that fact and teach them to tell the difference.

  4. That my friend looks to be a sirloin tri tip, if you got it from heb then sadly the partner probably couldn’t tell the difference

They gave you the the bottom tip of the sirloin instead of the fat cap to the top sirloin. It’s not as fatty even though this has some marble I find it less tender than picanha.

Cook it like a picanha and then cut against the grain for steak tips.

I’ve got too many Aussies around me. I read this as “Can someone ID this C*nt”
