Are you sure they said grass fed? Grass fed is too gamey for me and tends to have less marbeling. This cow looks like it was on a diet since this ribeye is supposed to have intense marbeling even if select. You can test this yourself but grass fed anything and compare to grain fed I think you’ll convert and never buy grass fed. I know I did. Sorry

  2. A healthy choice and not too expensive either. I’ve eaten my fair share. A little on the tough side compared to the full marbled rib eyes but still tasty. I like mine medium rare for this amount of lean.

I’d rather eat lean grass fed over a marbled feedlot steak. That NZ steak is going to rock your world.

I feel like one hour is not enough. Would like to see the final result and learn about your process.

I’ll tip my hat and take a bow for this one.

this cow was clearly an anorexic model.

So OP either choked on it or set the house on fire

  9. I had a potato fed one last week! It was pretty fucking good!

Looks amazing and healthy! Factory farm steaks taste great but they make me feel like shit for like 2 hours after eating them

Ratios look good. Distribution doesn’t thiugh

  12. Dry brine it with salt for a day, and grill it. Grass fed ribeye is delicious.

For all the US people in the comments that are anti grass fed beef:

In Aus and NZ grass fed cattle typically graze on pasture and tend to be higher welfare animals. This results in full flavoured high quality beef.

Grass fed beef has a negative connotation in the US where it tends to be a byproduct of the dairy industry.

Yes our grass fed is leaner than the buttery corn fed stuff you guys favour (which I also love) but it’s a genuinely great product.

I’d choose that purple colored flesh over some dyed, corn fed bullshit.

    Fresh as fuck!

Yeah, not as tender. I get that.

Know what you’re getting into before you order if it’s not your thing.

As a kiwi (someone from nz) I’m interested in trying US steak now. How bad could it be?

As someone that lives on a cattle farm in alpine country. Fairly normal looking on what we get on purely grass fed. We normally get more marbling but these people that say they wouldn’t eat it are crazy. I love the steaks I get from my cows. Eating more natural beef must turn some people off

I’m from New Zealand and buy a grass fed steer every year with my family but I have to admit that the American obsession of fattening animals as fast as possible is damn delicious!!
