congrats on your first! hmm soil may have been too hard or over watered. Pretty sure when they donβt grow straight and skinny it means they need looser soil or were overwatered, somebody can correct me

Iβm so excited to grow carrots and pull them up for a different surprise each time. I think thatβs so fun

All carrots are beautiful in God’s eyes.
I’m told, anyway.
j/k, congratulations on an unconventional but still pretty cool carrot!

So the bag on the left I filled maybe 1/5th full and sprouted maybe 100 seeds. After that I filled the bag on the right 2/3rds full and added the carrot sprouts slab onto the top of the soil. My first time planting for Christmas. I’ve used multipurpose soil, my own compost and some potting mix a little sand. I do admit the cosmo carrots were planted in a too “shitty” soil, meaning lumps of poo probably remained as I did have no clue what I were doing at first π! Probably many have had the first crop be a little “crazzaayy”. If you have trouble spouting I highly recommend planting lets say 3 per small pot and do many pots. You can then “thin” or transplant the whole soil cake into the final resting place. Yes it’s true carrots don’t like being disturbed but this way can save that hassle! I had success with this weird purple crop by actually lossening the root knots by hand and it managed to prevail (kinda). Hope this helps!!
