Harlan estate x Quince pairing dinner last night.

Vintages tried were 2020, 2016, 2011, 2007, 2002 and 1996. The 2020 actually drank very well and they avoided most of the smoke that year by having an early harvest.

Favourite vintage was the 2007. Just starting to mellow out and entering a good drinking window. Palate is heavy and full of black fruit. Aromas of espresso beans and cedar. I think this has 20-30 years ahead of it.

Favourite dish was the Maccaroncello with squab. Form pasta with hints of truffle and very exquisite squab.

Out of curiosity, what was the ticket price on this?

I once got served food on an iPad at Quince. It was the most ridiculous thing I have seen at a restaurant and I was once served a dish called Smell the Glove featuring a smoke orb being brought to the table and when it cleared it revealed a leather glove to go with the actual food.

Interested in the 2020.  Given the early harvest, did it taste lighter than the rest of the line up?  Am wary of Cali 2020s in general because of the fires.

Curious how full or light was each pour. Did they top you off?
