I’d do something with butternut squash! Perfect for fall

I have no idea what it’s called and it’s probably not helpful but it’s an oil based sauce made with peanuts.

Alfredo with a little squid ink!

We do that for dinner every year in Halloween.

I was thinking lemon butter sauce so you can see the colors!

Pumpkin sauce. No idea how to make it but it’s so freaking beautiful

Blood sauce, make sure you are using fresh blood and use vinegar or other acidic thing to keep the blood from coagulating. Also don’t cook the blood with too high of a temp or it will coagulate despite the acid. Or red sauce + blood sausage works too.

Purple cauliflower cream sauce with a green onion oil drizzle for Beatlejuice theme.

butternut squash and sage with crispy Prosciutto cracked over the top

  9. If you did cold pasta salad and use a clear dressing like just olive oil the colours would really show! Black pitted olives with green peas in them could look like monster eyes 👻

If it’s for Halloween, red is fine, so tomato sauce. Fry the onion with extra virgin olive oil, add the tomatoes you have cut in half, a little salt. Then grate some parmigiano reggiano cheese on top.

Mac and cheese with pumpkin seeds will match

I’m really curious how it’s coloured and what it looks like when cooked. I’d be a bit worried about the colours running or fading, and ending up with beige and grey or something.

BUT a special kind of pasta like this probably needs a special kind of sauce. I’d think something like pumpkin or squash, not overly cooked to retain shape and not become a mush, with maybe seeds or nuts for a textural contrast and a little spice like allspice or cloves or nutmeg and some black pepper to play against the sweetness of the squash/pumpkin. The colours should work with the pasta. The flavours would be sort of late renaissance Italian meets modern American Halloween.

Hmm.. Quattro Formaggi. Or perhaps Zucca e Gorgonzola.

    Sorry for using italian terms.
