I put 2 of these in the black bean burgers I’m making, but I’ve got a full can left. I’m stocking my freezer right now with home-cooked foods — what would you do with the rest of these?

I pour them into a ziplock bag and flatten it and freeze it, doesn’t take up any space and I can crack off a chunk easily when I need it for a dish, I usually use them in the ground beef for tacos.

I’d sauté some onions and garlic in a Dutch oven. Then add some chunks of beef (I usually get stew beef, because it’s easy) and get it nice and brown.

Lower heat to medium and add a small can of tomato paste to deglaze the pan. Cook for a couple minutes. Add beef stock (it’s going to cook for a long time, so enough that it won’t evaporate). Add some barbacoa type seasoning (cumin, oregano, lime zest, dried onion, dried garlic, salt, black pepper, etc).

Food processor a can of these chipotle peppers with enough water to thin it out a bit and fully puree, then add to the pot and stir.

Put a lid on and put it in a preheated oven at 300-325F (148-162C). Let that cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef falls apart. Usually 4 hours or so, depending on oven.

That’s my “I don’t know how to actually make birria tacos” recipe.

  3. Blend them up and mix with mayo or cream cheese. Then use either on a sandwich or bagel.

    You could

Blend it with mayo to make Chipotle mayo
Make an adobo for marinating meat
    Add it to homemade salsa
Add it to Home made queso
Blend it and mix it with your favorite BBQ sauce
Blend and add them to Bloody mary mix
Blend and add to refried beans

Get creative, they add a mild, sweet smokiness to anything

  5. NewRedditorHere

Mix it with mayo or sour cream. Goes with damn near absolutely everything.

  6. sarahvancee

  7. Librareon

I love putting these in tuna or chicken salad for sandwiches, with red onions and fresh lime juice <3

  8. HighSolstice

I added these to a hot sauce with some fermented reapers, came out great!

  9. Vegetable-Star-5833

I cut them up and put them in cornbread

  10. FLICK_YOLI

I stick these in a blender and then put a few spoonfuls in when I make salsa and keep the rest in the freezer to keep from spoiling.

Beef chuck roast in instapot w this , onion, garlic salt. Turns to birria🤤

  12. AnchoviePopcorn

Blend them and mix them into a crock pot with a pork shoulder, some brown sugar and Dr Pepper.

  13. I use these in Beef Stew, Chili, blitz them and use them as a marinade / binder / rub. You can smash them and add them to quiche too.

  14. Kregington

I like to make a quick hot sauce with these.

    1 can peppers
    1 can vinegar
    1/4-1/2 can water

    Blend smooth and enjoy!

  15. Correct_Freedom5951

Blend, flatten, and freeze in ziplock bags. Use as needed

  16. I used to be a saucier for a certain restaurant everone knows. Two options here, can make a chipotle adobo puree with some garlic and Tabasco chipotle sauce. Also, a chipotle honey glaze. Add the rest of the Chipotle’s, add some lime juice, honey and garlic. Put on whatever you desire.

Edit: oh yeah, blend them both lol.

A heaping tablespoon goes into almost every bowl of ramen noodle soup that I make, even the already spicy ones, it greatly enhances their flavor 🔥🥲

  18. burgonies

I blend everything in the can with a stick blender and then freeze in ice cube trays. Keeps forever in a ziplock bag.

  19. pineappleyard

Mix with mayo, 2 garlic cloves, salt/pepper TT
    for chipotle mayo

  20. I have the simplest salsa recipe that I love making, I actually made it earlier today:

    1 part canned chipotles

    1 part diced tomatoes

    Blend

  21. Duuuuude! Oh boy, ok, so I know this one is not “freezable” but hear me out.

1 premade container of Alfredo Sauce. Any brand will do.

    2. A chipotle pepper from that can plus a little bit of the juice it comes in.

    3. A fistful of raisins.

Blend all ingredients, heat up and add to your pasta.

So easy and so amazing! I still have to find a person who doesn’t like it when I make this for them.

  22. Conch-Republic

This happens every time I do pulled pork. One time I chopped them up and added them to a couple loaves of bread. They turned out amazing.

  23. Several Roma tomatoes, 2 bunches of cilantro (leaves only), 3-4 cloves of garlic, half of a white onion, and the remaining chipotles and adobo sauce in a blender — and *voila!* Some of the most smoky, flavorful chipotle tomato salsa! Even better when chilled and left in the refrigerator overnight. More flavor intensity!

  24. Jaded_Promotion8806

Whenever I have half a can in the fridge I take an equal portion pepper and adobo and chop it real good, almost into a paste and use it as a sandwich spread.

  25. NarrowCarpet4026

Freezing is good. Whenever you do use them blend them up and add them to sloppy joes or chili for a nice little kick and a delightful flavor.

  26. Inevitable-Bass2749

Blend in a Food processor with a small jar of sour cream and I like to add just a little crema

  27. Curious-Department-7

Blend it, add lime and salt, mix with mayo. Chipotle aioli for your black bean burgers.

  28. lanceplace

    One entire can.
    One cup Mayo.
    One cup ranch dressing.
    One tablespoon granulated onion.
Vitamix it smooth. Spoils slower than it will be consumed.

Substitute sour cream for mayo. Spoils according to sour cream expiration date.

    You’re welcome.

  29. TheGreatAndPowerfulZ

Purée, spray an ice cube tray with cooking spray, parcel out and freeze to use in cooking. 1 ice cube = 30 ml/ 2 Tbsp

  30. 60svintage

Mash them onto peanut butter on toast. These are fantastic.

  31. RandomHero27

I blend these with a bottle of texas pete, fresh garlic, and butter for a wing sauce.

  32. As others have said, I think taking a few and making a blended sauce of some kind is a good idea, could always take a spare pepper or two and freeze it if you wished.

  33. theanswer1630

Bitchin Chipotle Dip – if you like almonds it’s a great dip you can make at home

  34. CoysNizl3

Blend it with a bottle of ketchup, boom chipotle ketchup. I always have a bottle in my fridge.
