One thing about a lot of us though: we’re making buy it for life investments. My Linea Mini will be around for decades with proper maintenance…and I got a RIDICULOUS deal on it in the first place that made it much easier to stomach the initial purchase.

Let’s see… Spent 2k on bike wheels and ordered an argos. Guess my hiking is under 250 at the moment.

This isn’t a hobby. It’s in my food and medicine budget categories.

It’s especially tough when you have multiple hobbies like most of us 😜 because I collect boutique label blu-rays, and raise poison dart frogs, and exotic tropical plants. If it wasn’t for the half price sales and second hand tanks from marketplace and friends who I trade cuttings with, I honestly couldn’t afford all of it. I buy whole bean Lavazza in kilo bags mostly, can’t afford the smaller roasters, and honestly don’t have the level of equipment required to make the most of it yet anyway.
FULLPOIL
I had a more expensive hobby before, salt water aquarium with corals. Now it’s mostly just espresso and my lawn.

This honestly seems kind of low. I’d imagine the real number for most hobbys is higher than that

It’s worse when all of your hobbies are as or more expensive than this
