I hate to say it…

  1. Honestly I agree with you. The peppers themselves are a bit too floral in flavor for my tastes.

  2. Supply_N_Demand

Because of the flavor profile of the pepper or the spice level?

I agree, unless it’s sauce that the first or second ingredient is ghost pepper. It’s just a marketing word they tack on to anything to sell to people who will assume it’s spicy. Fair bet few people have any idea what a ghost pepper actually tastes like

    I’m with you

    Scorpion flavor > Ghost flavor

I personally like ghost pepper. But allot of these ghost pepper flavored things are garbage.

I like ghost pepper. But my favorite pepper for flavor is Carolina reaper by far.

  7. I agree. The heat level is ok but the flavor just doesn’t hit well. I prefer a habanero forward sauce/seasoning.

I grow my own so I’ll add a ghost or reaper to kick it up if I want the burn, but the flavors are meh.

I can agree with this, I love spicy food but I can’t stand the taste of ghost pepper.

Originally I would have agreed, but I found the best salsa in my life that has ghost pepper in it. Called Ghost of Clovis and was at a festival we went to yesterday!

I thought I was a connoisseur of spicy flavoured food until I tried ghost pepper hot sauce. It was so spicy my stomach physically hurt, sad to say I had to leave work cause of it. I know my limit now and I play within it lol

I absolutely LOVE ghost pepper flakes, and sauces that have an actual taste/heat of GP but ‘flavored’ is usually ass

I thought ghost pepper pods were a bit weird tasting when I first started eating them but I really grew to like the flavor. Half a fresh minced pepper in a plate of curry goes pretty far flavor wise and it is delicious to me. My fermented ghost sauces were also pretty tops.

Its got an interesting flavor in itself that some people might not like but a lot of “ghost pepper” products also taste vaguely of burnt dust.

ghost pepper has truly turned into its name because the spice isn’t there.

  14. 99% of of “ghost pepper” flavored things are actually just extract flavored. find something that actually has ghost pepper in the list of ingredients and you’ll probably enjoy it

  15. I tried a fresh-picked scorpion last week. It has some of the fruity notes of a habanero but a lot hotter. I liked it. I put a few in a mostly habanero sauce. Love the taste.

I think it’s alright, but I wouldn’t lose sleep if I never had it again.
