Used the ball book recipe and after coring, cooking down, and running through the food mill on the Kitchenaid, it jarred up to 7 quarts plus a bowl for snacking on.

    Apples are funny. I used to take all apples I got for free and make them into cider. A 5 gallon bucket of apples can make you a nice half gallon of cider and takes hours on my press.

    Then I realized that I can make 2 gallons of apple sauce in an hour with those same apples. I buy my apple juice at the store now if I want to make apple cider and make apples into apple sauce.
