I have started never leaving the cup anywhere else. 90% of the time I leave it on the drying rack after cleaning I am looking for a sheet of printer paper the next morning.

I did this with my hand grinder. Worst part was I had walked over to our living room so I could watch a show that was on and didn’t notice until I felt the grounds on my feet. Was fun cleaning that out of our white rug

I’ve been waiting for this to happen to me, but so far I’ve managed to catch myself. I did however forget to tamp my grinds before adding a puck the other day. Reminded me why the tamp is necessary.

I use a different dosing vessel to weigh my beans so that this doesn’t happen. That way my grinder’s dosing cup only leaves its place while dumping the grounds into my portafilter,and then it goes right back.
