I’ve been seeing so much spicy raw marinated crab content and I wanna try it so bad I love trying new things. I’m not from Korea and I don’t have any Korean friends. I’ve seen several videos on the marinade and how to clean and cook the crabs. I’ve noticed some use fresh but I’ve seen a lot of people use frozen. This was what I found at an h mart, I drove out kind of far hoping these would have it prepared but since they didn’t I did my best trying to source all the ingredients to make it, are these the correct ones to use? I don’t want to get sick by preparing raw shellfish incorrectly.

    Yangnyeom-gejang 양념게장 is what you are making. Ganjang gejang is a different dish. Yes, those are the correct ingredient

  2. They aren’t ideal, usually the most prized parts are the back fast and eggs, but aside from that these will absolutely work for ganjang gejang. Using frozen is very common

    I spent 38362884 on fresh crabs thinking that’s what mama Kim used. Nope. She used those.

    Both Yangnyeom and Ganjang are eaten raw. You are supposed to use blue crab.
