We all know Krug is gonna win this one. I will however vote for Gusbourne blanc de noirs 2018.

  2. Uncle___Screwtape

Louis Roederer for the absolute best, though I often reach for a Crémant du Jura when I want something sparkling

  3. Apetasticscotsman

No chance this is beating Champagne, but English Sparkling wine is great these days! 🥰

  4. sid_loves_wine

Gosh this is hard…maybe a nice prosecco or even Cook’s brut…hmm. I think I’ll go with Krug

  5. Scitalis

Egly-Ouriet makes some absolutely beautiful wines

Haven’t had the chance to study the super high end Champagne like Jacques Selosse’s cuvees, or even Krug.

Some of my favourite Champagne have been Eric Rodez’ Ambonnay Dosage Zero, or his Blanc de Noirs, Deutz Hommage a William Deutz Meurtret 2012, and Marguet’s 2018 Ambonnay.

  7. Either Billecart-Salmon or Louis Roederer 242

Overall: Krug! I would choose Krug everyday if only I got the money

Favourite ever (years ago) – salon 96, more recently Cedric Bouchard cotes de bechalin 14

  10. Yoshimadashi

Dom Perignon with some age (20+ years).

While I could easily go with a top tier grower like Egly or the crowd favorite Krug, I’ve only had a handful of Champagnes that have truly exceeded my expectations which were Dom Perignon from the 80s and 90s and an 1989 Bollinger La Grande Annee.
