I just saw this article from Food & Wine

https://www.foodandwine.com/love-moment-electric-mason-jar-vacuum-sealer-kit-deal-amazon-8706430

Respectfully, what is the point of this gadget? The article still says the jars need to be heat processed (thank goodness) so why would you need this gadget to seal the lids before processing them? The author is making it sound like it's a revolutionary thing that solves a problem but it just seems like an unnecessary step.

  1. The only thing I can think of is, maybe it makes a seal that never fails?

I’ve rarely had that happen (actually, never so far!)

The link is an affiliate link so either Food and Wine or the author gets a cut for each one that gets sold through that link. The author likely doesn’t know anything about the gadget or canning and is just trying to earn Amazon affiliate money.
