Like it’s totally fine if I’m wrong but it just doesn’t look burnt to me?

I’m normally my biggest critic so it took me aback when someone said it’s burnt because I thought the color looked nice.

Could someone let me know if I’m just crazy here? I was planning on gifting it to someone so I’ll just save it for myself if it’s burnt.

  1. That loaf is referred to as ‘bien cuit’, ‘well done’ in French. Plenty of bakers will bake till the colour is darker than this, and those loaves would still be considered bien cuit, and not burnt!

  2. You are not delusional

However, the person you were speaking with may be both Delusional and possibly a psychopath

This is not burnt! if the person that told u this is old, you should put them in a nursing home

The only thing burnt is whomever said that’s brain.

  5. AmbientLighter

Some people like a lighter loaf but that doesn’t make this overdone!

I didn’t agree. It doesn’t look burnt. But there is a personal preference for certain levels of darkness.

You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life.

That person needs glasses and possibly (probably) some form of electro-something therapy.

I prefer mine even darker. That’s not at all burnt.

I looooove crunchy crust bread. If they think it’s burnt that means more for everyone else who will appreciate it 😍 eat a slice for them and enjoy every bite (and eat one for me too!)

I think they mispronounced “amazing” as “burnt.” Not sure how that happens.

If you were going for a vanilla cake, then yes I’d concede it’s burnt. Since it’s clear you were going for bread, I’d say it’s perfect

Let them stick to their anaemic supermarket bread. More colour = better flavour and texture!

They have no idea what they are missing. Neither do you. This needs another 5 to 7 minutes in the oven until the crust is caramelized and develops all the nice taste and aroma.

Only someone who has never eaten real bread would call that burnt. It looks 11/10 perfect from here

  16. This is how my favorite local bakery bakes theirs. They say it brings out the flavors more.

Just had a peep at your profile. It’s remarkable how quickly you’ve got to this point – what you make looks better than anything I make ever will, so congratulations. You clearly have a knack for this. Don’t give your bread away to anyone who won’t appreciate it 🙂
