Myself and my mother have just eaten at Le Mousso and was utterly fantastic. It was a 10 (I think) course tasting menu and we requested no meat. How it doesn’t have a star is beyond me.

Ambience wise it was great with each course being served to each table at the same time and joyfully announced by the head chef. We, being the ignorant English pigs we are, did not speak French so they courteously came over to explain each dish. The layout was simple and perfect for its city centre location with clean lines and not pretentious- not that I’m against a dose of pretension. The gentle 90s/2000s background rap was well received by this middle class northern English man with my mother enjoying having dead prez rapped word for word over the third or fourth plate.

The plates delivered on complex / interesting flavours that were stunningly tasty and it was a welcome surprise to be completely stuffed at the end. We didn’t do the wine pairing but I did have some of the sake which was a buttery delight.

Service was perfect with warm attentiveness without hovering over you.

Don’t think I should try and explain the dishes as I would bastardise them but ding me if you want to know what’s in the pictures.

OP, please tell us more about the food. It’s a friendly community and we want to share your experience vicariously 🙂

I was there yesterday. Food is A+, but service has quite a way to go.

Also seeing insects flying about at the bar is not Michelin-worthy. But considering the stars are being awarded at pay-to-play, they’d be at least 1 star.

I found the food was plated beautifully, but lacking flavour and execution. More style over substance IMO.
